i've tried doing the front ones myself and unless you have a proper wheel bearing tool don't bother beating the shit out of it with a hammer like i did for hours... it will NOT move! 1

he's an idea of one, they cost a few quid...

http://www.diytools.co.uk/diy/Main/sp-2-4619-94678-sealey-wheel-bearing-removal-tool-kit.asp

just remove the hub and take it to your local garage along with a new wheel bearing. they have the tools and it cost me £20 for their time and effort...

plus about £40 per wheels bearing.

good luck!

bit of easing oil and a pair of pipe grips.
then gently turn it a little each way to loosen it up then pull as you wiggle.
to get mine started i tapped the metal fixing bracket round with a blunt chisel then prized it up with a screwdriver.
hope this helps
crashing is not an option, its inevatable
foot down/ flat out
