Hi All, im looking at buying a GTIR on the weekend and i had a friend check it out. He said it was running just shy of 14 psi. I asked the seller about the car and AFAIK its running stock ecu and no additional sort of fuel / timing management.

I did read that the standard ecu will be ok up untill 14 is psi / 1bar. I have searched for ages trying to get info. can anyone advise me?

Thank you
Scott

Yeah 1bar should be fine!

Its always best to have the fueling checked tho! And always use 97ron fuel or above!

Thanks for getting back to me :). im planning on putting some decent octaine booster ( some from guys i know that drag race ) for the drive back (4hours) and take it easy. Then ill get booked in for some dyno power runs to check power / AF/R. We do have 98 octaine fuel where i live but its not at many stations :(. Im thinking about intergrating a small water/meth injection for higher up boost just to compensate for the fuel quality here and the massive fluctuation in ambient temp i get where i live.
